The Rams have been fortunate to have really good long snappers over the past 10 years. Chris Massey until recently, now Jake McQuaide.

Someone like Jake is one of those guys that goes unnoticed until he makes a mistake. Fortunately, he's about as solid as they come. Punts... Place kicks... dude throws strikes. He's the "silent weapon" on Special Teams.

What is a day of practice like with Jake (and Greg)? Reps, etc. Scenarios practiced?

I hope my question is clear enough. Just asking about the side of the game most of us glaze over, but equally important to the success on game day.

Thanks again for hanging out with us!

Jake is a beast. The guy not only snaps strikes all day, but he is also incredibly smart in protection and is able to pick up stunts and twists that the punt rush team throws at us. Practice varies from day to day but our weekly schedule is very steady. We usually warm up before practice and while the rest of the team stretches, we then go to our special teams drills, bust out whatever Bones has for us that day, usually some good situational work, and then we will go and get extra work on the side depending on how we felt with warm up reps, team reps, and so forth. Special teams is very important to this team and everyone believes in our mission to be one of the best special teams units in the NFL. Coming to work every day with Jake and Greg is amazing , they are some of the most talented, and fun to be around specialists I've ever met.
