Wrapping up Friday's workout at Rams Park, the Rams are about as healthy as one could expect entering a late-December contest.

The Rams (6-8) close out their home schedule Sunday at 3:05 p.m. against the New York Giants (5-9) at the Edward Jones Dome.

Defensive end Chris Long (ankle) did not practice Friday but is listed probable on the final injury report of the week. Also probable are center Scott Wells and guard Davin Joseph, who received veteran's days off on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Both offensive linemen went through full practices on Friday.

So it looks like the Rams will have a full 53-man roster available again for Sunday.

“It's just hard with the 53,'' Rams coach Jeff Fisher said. “Last week, I think our seven inactives were all healthy.”

The Rams, coming off a frustrating 12-6 Thursday loss to the visiting Arizona Cardinals on Dec. 11 are anxious to finish their home schedule strong.

“Obviously, our focus is strictly on winning this football game, (but) that would be the perfect scenario when you talk about winning that last game here at home,'' said Fisher, whose team will close out 2014 on Dec. 28 in Seattle against the defending Super Bowl champions.

The Giants' injury report is also condensed, featuring just two names. Running back Rashad Jennings, the team's leading rusher with 606 yards, is out due to a ankle injury. He was limited to one 3-yard carry a week ago and has not practiced this week.

New York middle linebacker Jameel McClain (knee) is probable after practicing on Thursday and Friday. He lead the Giants with 101 overall tackles to go along with 2 ½ sacks, eight tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, two passes defended and one forced fumble.

"Veterans day off", my butt. Wells and Joseph were getting "you suck and we want to try out the youngsters again with the #1s" days off.

You can almost hear the postgame conference, when Fisher has to explain why Person and Jones started instead of Wells and Joseph. "Well, they had such a good week in practice, that we thought we'd give them a little game time."

Please. :)

~~

It is a nice thing that the Rams will have the 10 days rest for this game. We can expect them to be a little extra intense, surely a good thing.

To be fair, the good vets have gotten days off too.
