As for any opinions regarding Wentz or Jimmy G being "punks", only leaves me to believe that objectivity isn't a part of this equation....some of you folks are already declaring Goff a huge success after 2 short seasons while judging players like Wentz who until his injury was in the running for offensive player of the year....meanwhile opinions rage about Jimmy G, who has only played in a half dozen games.....really?
Well, 62, I can see your comments have stirred the hornets nest a bit. I didn't see the "punk" comment, but I will agree on one point. We need to be CAUTIOUSLY optimistic about our guy.

However, you seem to thing Goff has reached his ceiling. Matt Ryan? No way Jared can reach his lofty heights? Stand by. He's gonna pass him this year. Jared has IT. I hope you come to appreciate that. He is still a young guy, and growing into his frame. I'll take Goff over unLuck, Jimmygee! and perhaps Wentz, too, at the end of the day. Best ability is availability, as they say.

(see the roller coaster ride of Foles) hero to goat, back to hero

To be fair... he was only a goat under Fisher. Joe Montana would not have performed well under Jeff "don't throw an interception" Fisher.

Goff cannot manage to "make plays" on the move and laterally so as they say to "carry this team" when things aren't going well. In other words, he's serviceable but not at the level of a "difference maker."

Now to be clear, it wouldn't surprise me if (over time) Goff performs at an above average level (above 16, where he's rated currently), which is obviously acceptable.

As the saying goes, "one season doesn't make a career"....but at this stage, none of us knows how things will work out in the future
To me, if Goff outperforms most QBs because of the "system" or coaching/motivation, that's just fine.

I think he has great natural talent and got what he needed last year (again, the system and motivation) to get into the playoffs.

Will that continue this year? Will the opposition figure out the system? Of course, no telling... but, if that offense performs anywhere near that of last year - with the upgrades on defense? Can't imagine the Rams won't go further in the playoffs (especially having experienced that now).

I said it last year... no matter what, it's a pleasure to be able to look forward to the upcoming season!

The one QB I remembered being called "The Natural" was Redskins' signal caller, Sonny Jurgenson, who used to zip short- to medium-range passes to his receivers behind his back! during practice. He was so naturally good he was the only QB sporting a pot belly who ever played for the famous disciplinarian, Vince Lombardi.

We have some more evidence to incriminate Jeff "the QB Killer" Fisher, and that's Case Keenum. Case was just your below average guy with Fisher, and now a franchise qb to the Broncos. Why the difference? I'd put a lot of that on Fisher...who wouldn't?

I don't see any reason Goff doesn't improve upon 2017's performance being more experienced and 2nd year under McVay and his system, which is huge.

Anyway, if Goff doesn't work out, Rams could take a flyer on that guy Dreaj Foge from Ventura College. That guy can throw!

If anyone ever had an ounce of doubt whether Fisher was clueless on offense, Keenum and Foles should remove all doubts.

As glad as I am that the Rams are where they are today, I'm perhaps even more glad that Fisher is gone!

He wasn't the OC. He handed that off to guys who sucked. Yeah, his responsibility and he didn't do well.

But it isn't like he was making bad decisions on play calling and play design.
