My wife and I did not take our honeymoon in August when we got married, because we knew we wanted to go to New Zealand and it would be winter there. We're going to Middle Earth for two weeks and then Fiji for around 5 days then coming back. I'm actually leaving on Sunday so I won't get to see the worst Superbowl ever.

I probably won't be around much during that time. I'll come back when we return

There was a trip when I was in high school to New Zealand and Fiji. Sadly I didn't go, because I took the trip to Paris, Germany, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein the year before.

Everyone that went said it was awesome, though. Have a good trip.

Sounds like a great time. My wife illustrated a book for a guy who lives half the year in NZ. He says we have a place to stay if we come out there. Now we just need to actually do it.

Full report with pictures yeah? Have fun.

Just seeing your post today, so it looks like I missed you. But if by chance you're able to check-in on this thread before you get to Fiji, then I highly recommend staying a few days in the Yasawa Island group. You can get there by sea plan from Nadi A/P, which is where you'll be landing. It's the most pristine part of the Fijian Islands, and the natives there have owned their own islands for generations. All of the Fijian kids there have travelled to offshore university, but typically return because it's so beautiful. So, they're all very well educated, and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet in your lifetimes.

This is where Turtle Island Resort is located, which is one of the most exclusive resorts in the world. The guy that runs the resort is an American and an asshole, and he leases the land from the local natives who put up with him. So, i wouldn't recommend staying there, as it's probably at least $1,500/nt, and I think he demans a 1-wk stay. But you can shack-up with any of the natives, as many has small bungalows that they've built and rent out for around $20/nt. It may not be the Ritz, but the beach and water and fishing could be some of the best you've ever experienced. And the native wil take you out scuba fishing and catch whatever you want for dinner.

Anyway, I really hope that you see this note before you make it to Fiji. I wouldn't invest much time in Nadi or Suva or the main island, as there is so much more in the outer islands to explore.

Good luck. You'll love it and the people. Ta!

Of course we care. If your phone charges via a micro USB all you should need to do is plug your phone into your computer and it will recognize it as another drive. Then just find the file that contains the pictures, and move them over to a file on your computer. From there you should be able to just use the "Upload a File" button. For some reason, it doesn't seem to recognize jpg files on my phone so I have to first transfer them to my computer.

water water and more water. I used to do that flight once per month for years. I would flood myself on the plane. That's what always worked best :)

But Welcome back ! Can't wait to hear your stories and to see pics. I best you had an absolute blast.

OK as promised, here are some pics from the trip. These are from four places in New Zealand. I don't have pics of Fiji on my phone, they're on my camera, and I'll have to figure that one out later

These are pics of a place called Waiotapu in the North Island of New Zealand, which is this place with volcanic activity that spews out different chemicals which turns their lakes odd colors:

These are some pics of Hobbiton (the pic here is Bag End, but they had like 66 hobit holes) including the Green Dragon where I had a beer:

These are some pics of Fox Glacier. We went to the glacier and then to Lake Matheson. Lake Matheson is not done justice here. It's called "reflection lake" because the mountains can be reflected perfectly in the water. Everytime I tried to take a pic the wind started up and the water was moving so I couldn't get that perfect reflection

Here are some pics from the top of the sky gondola in Queenstown (where bungy jumping was invented):
