RUMOR: AUBURN WR D’HAQUILLE “DUKE” WILLIAMS HAS A WORKOUT WITH THE #RAMS
dhaquille-duke-williams-300x169.jpg

Auburn WR Duke Williams has landed a workout with the Rams

We are learning that Auburn wide receiver D’haquille Duke Williams has been invited to the Los Angeles Rams for a mini camp workout.

Williams was rated as the top wide receiver in the NFL Draft, before the season started. Williams quickly fell down the charts and his name was brutally crushed by media and critics around the NFL.

Now the man that Mel Kiper called the best wide receiver in the draft, has landed a workout with the Rams. Les Snead himself is an Auburn man, so this makes sense.
Sounds Great! Sign him up! Chalk one up for the "Hollywood Attraction!!":D

sounds like a player to me....an old school kind....I'm sure his 40 time was slower because of his layoff...but 4.7 is a lil too slow for my tastes....but he has some good looking grabs in 2014....

Duke has skills and he played against the best in college football the SEC. I hope he turns it around and becomes a great WR for us. He needs to grab this opportunity and not let go. Not worried about our locker room because we have strong leaders who won't put up with bs.

Has weak stats and measurables. What made this guy so special that people saw so much in him?

Potential that he didn't end up having. When he came out of JUCO, he was a 6'3" 220 pound guy who was rumored to have 4.4 speed and outstanding hands. His first year at Auburn, he was inconsistent but flashed a lot of promise. Many expected he'd declare for the draft. He didn't. He returned and then it came out what a headcase he was after he was dismissed from the team. And then he tested terribly at the Combine.

But hey, I'd give him a try-out too. There was still potential on film. Even if he's not the athlete people thought he was.

Here are his DraftBreakdown games (show all his targets and plays where he was a key blocker):

I think once you see these games, it'll be easier to understand why people thought highly of him. Keep in mind that this was his first year playing in the SEC.(transferred in as a JUCO)

But I'm not sure I can hold out much hope. Character issues off the field, inconsistent effort on it. Tested terribly and body-catches way too often.

Yeah, I forgot to factor in he bad a large layoff. Came into combine out of shape so that effects it. Needs to get back into playing football.

Typically athletes that are dedicated tend to stay in shape even through layoffs. So if this is his excuse for not testing well, shouldn't that at the same time be a knock against his dedication?

I really enjoyed that show........I wish they had kept it going.

Lousy ending too. Hard to believe that gif is Miami Steve Van Zandt, the guitarist from the Bruce Springsteen band, wearing a toupee.

Yup.

It was pretty neat that they had Springsteen on one show as the in house hitman.

I say give him a chance. There's nothing worse than wasted talent.

Don't know about that. Have you ever licked an envelope to seal it, and gotten a paper cut on the tip of your tongue? I hate when that happens.

Sounds like he'd be better playing defense with a temper like that. He's the "The Waterboy's" Bobby Bouchet! Line him up! Ha ha.
