This is a good spot for MSam. He's 10th best in STL. He's much higher on the Dallas dline.
I never thought he was 10th on our team. Carrington and Conrath were given spots cuz they damn sure didn't earn them.
With Hayes and Sims still banged up we may regret letting him leave town more than many think

While I'm not crazy about them - they are DTs, and Sam is strictly a DE. Since there were 5 DEs making the team (and Conrath is on the PS, not the 53) it's not a good comparison. He was behind Quinn, Long, Hayes, Sims, and Westbrooks. They weren't going to take a 6th DE unless they went with 10 DL. They would never have gone with only 3 DTs.

oh the irony... lot of my cowboy friends have teased me about the Rams drafting a gay player....

now i tell them he's on the "Dallas Brokebacks" - ohhh how hilarious this is...especially since I told them he'd be a cowboy if he were cut by the Rams...

Ya know I don't care if it's just to sell jerseys, Sam will be making more money being "exploited" than he would in most any job he's currently qualified to do, exploit me that way any day. Thing is once there he'll get a chance to prove himself to his coaches and he'll make a place or not.
I guess I need to apologize for calling Jerruh a 'red neck pecker wood" as a reason the Cowpies might not be calling Mike, nah,he's still that, one moment doesn't change whatcha are .

And all the jokes are why he was better served in St. Louis...developed under Coach Waufle...mentored by Quinn, Long and Hayes...

He will have a much better chance to play in Dallas than here. I honestly think he's better off there from a playing time standpoint. Being mentored is all well and good, but come 2015 he'd be right back to fighting for a roster spot. Dallas is desperate, and desperation has found more good unsung football players than anything else. He's a hard worker, and a class act. He'll be rewarded for that down there.

Well when it's official he'll be a Cowboy and thus I'll be obligated to hate him. Fuck everything Dallas.

That's who I predicted would want him. They need help desperately. Was hoping for a trade though. :(
Yeah. I had said the same thing. They need players all over the D and a guy who has a shot as a situational passrusher....he could start on the practice squad and find the field later in the year.
Hope he does well.

Definitely the most publicized practice squad signing ever.

Today, the Cowboys’ press conference was dominated by the historical nature of having the NFL’s first openly gay player.
Hasn't the novelty of the situation already worn off? Seriously. How often does it need to be talked about?

Pass rush deficient team.

Sucks it had to be the Cowgirls, but I'm glad he's going to get an opportunity. Hope they let him get his feet wet and let his game develop. He could be a solid rotational piece.

Seriously you had to ask that? ESPN isn't letting go of this until someone else comes out. You know that's how they roll.

The 24-hour news cycle, like a dog with a bone, won't allow it.

Good for him. He deserves it. He shouldn't even be on a practice squad in my opinion. You don't win SEC def player of the year for no reason.

Don't think you can. Has to go through the Sportsbook, if I understand it.
