My first, second, and third response was HELL NO! Quinn is MY toy dammit! I wanted to see him break Deacon Jones unofficial sack record......If our personnel people say it's a good deal. I'll reluctantly go along and be like Buffalo fans are about Sammy Watkins:puke:

I just had a crazy thought. I know there's no chance it happens, but I thought it would be interesting to float. The Patriots are reportedly considering trading CB Malcolm Butler. They likely won't bring him back this off-season. They also need pass rushing help. We need help in our secondary. Here's my thought:
Rams Trade
OLB Robert Quinn
WR Tavon Austin
2018 Third Round Pick

Patriots Trade
CB Malcolm Butler
HB Dion Lewis
2018 Second Round Pick

Lewis replaces Lance Dunbar. Patriots get a talented gadget in Austin. Patriots get a talented pass rusher in Quinn. We get a talented cover CB in Butler. We swap picks and get the better pick because Quinn is under contract through 2019. Thoughts?
I like the thought process but would hate to see Brady with Cooks and Austin and I still think Quinn has a lot left.

Tavon isn't going anywhere. His value to Gurley cannot be underestimated. Funny how the run game got going once the jet sweep came out of the bag again.

But we get Tavon off the books, and Quinn
So it frees up enough that it makes the possibilty of signing both CB's possible, no?

That's like $20M at CB. I guess it's possible if we front load it before we have to start paying our offensive guys... But then we also have to pay DL. These are good problems to have!

The jet sweep was there the whole time...I think the running game got better because of Whitworth and the passing game...

Not to mention everyone is ready ship off tavon yet don't look at things such as attention he draws in both the pass and run game that help this offense tick. Yes his #s aren't there but other guys have the #s because he was on the field drawing attention.

As a Patriots fan, we don't really want Austin, thanks.

I'm not a fan of this trade. I'm tired of seeing former Rams players that I want succeed play for the Pats. Fuck the Patriots

Look at what Wade did in Denver with a dominant secondary. I think giving him a guy like Butler makes a huge difference. I do think Butler is a top 15 CB in the NFL.

I don't think he is top fifteen. He hasn't looked good when I have watched him this year and last.
