I came by here this morning and the first thing I saw was the Rams war room, and all I could think was, "Sean, please shave your beard. It looks awful."

So... what famous people have awful beards that need to die?

I'll start with Johnny Depp:

And conversely, what famous people have absolutely epic beards that need to live forever?

It obviously starts with Billy Gibbons:

I can't grow a very good beard, but even mine is better than this;

That is a sad ass attempt at a beard. Sometimes I say fuck it when it comes to shaving but I hate beards so I hot wax the beard so I don't have to mess with shaving for quite awhile. You can get a blotchy appearance to the beard if not all done at the same time.

I present you the worst beard in sports history, courtesy of another hated new England personality.

I don't get the big bushy beards the younger generation is sporting these days

THE BAD - Howie Mandel

I have to say this beard is the worst of all. It's essentially a Hitler mustache that missed it's mark

THE GOOD - Clayton Kershaw

I personally rock "the Kershaw"
It sorta has the Amish vibe BNW is mentioning, with unkept chops, but the key is not to let it get too large and lumberjack -- and you have to keep the mustache super cut back so chicks can see your face, but not completely shaven

I don't either and I don't know any women who dig it or think its "masculine", which is how the trend started. You can be a man and not have more hair on your face than head.

It's a bad look and only the small percentage of guys who are doing it think it looks good.

I don't know about anyone else's experience, but lots of Army wives love beards, probably because we can't have them. In my case, the Reserves now, I have to shave it once a month and my wife is always sad when I do. I keep mine much shorter though, not all Tom Hanks in Cast Away.

Just cause y'all can't grow a beard doesn't give you the right to knock a guy who can and does grow a beard. Granted there are more then a few mangy ratty beards but a well kept beard can and will look good.

I am a hairy man. The one person who likes it happens to be the same person who gives me mouth hugs. Lol

I post an older pic because I recently had to shave for a work even and I'm only half strength right now.

I do not agree with the mangy beards but I think a good healthy one is fine.

Don't know any guy that can't grow a beard. The issue is the look of the beard the spectrum of which discussed here ranges from sarcoptic mange (per Les) to hey that must be from last thursday but still tastes the same (per Rhody). I blame "Fear the Beard" Brian Wilson.

Beard Trivia: I used to fish out of Ocracoke, NC and remember reading that Blackbeard the pirate used to tie firecrackers in his beard and then light them when fighting.

The last time I was completely clean shaven was my senior year of HS 1985.

The last 3 years or so I've gone full beard. I usually keep it trimmed at about a 3 guard... let it grow 2 weeks... cut it back with a 3 guard.... repeat. I hate shaving.

I don't think my wife likes it all that much. She's fine with it right after I trim it... but after growing out for 2 weeks she calls me her terrorist. That's her way of saying... "Please go trim that fucking thing back asap". Hahahaha

Haven't been clean shaven since the 90s. Used to be just a goatee but the older I get the lazier I get and just go full beard now. But I keep it trim with basically this same routine...

I can't stand it too long, drives me crazy. But yeah, bad beards are ones that don't connect clearly... mustache doesn't connect to the beard is a common problem. Or not enough cheek hair. Just don't bother if those two things happen lol. And this new hipster, bushy beard phase needs to go. I like the meme that if you've never changed a tire you shouldn't have a beard.
